PhysioJohor is a physiotherapist-led home-visit referral network across Johor. We match Johor Bahru patients to a registered physio who fits their condition, location and language, then that physio treats them at home. This freelance route is for physiotherapists who want to keep their independence, set their own schedule and be paid per completed visit rather than a fixed monthly salary.
You are not tied to a clinic roster or fixed shifts. When a patient near you needs a home visit that matches your experience, we send you the case with the condition, location and preferred times. You accept the ones that fit your calendar and travel radius, treat the patient in their home, and log the outcome. There is no obligation to take work you cannot do well.
This suits physios who already have some clinical experience and their own transport, and who prefer the variety of community and home-based caseloads over a clinic cubicle. Because you carry your own caseload, honest matching matters: we only send you cases within your scope, and you tell us the moment a case is outside it.
What the work involves
- Deliver one-to-one home physiotherapy for musculoskeletal, post-surgical, stroke/neuro and elderly-rehab patients across Johor Bahru neighbourhoods.
- Assess, set goals and progress a treatment plan over a typical 4–8 session course, adjusting to what you find in the home.
- Bring your own portable equipment where needed (bands, basic modalities); we advise on what each case expects.
- Keep brief, clear session notes and flag anything that needs a doctor or falls outside physiotherapy scope.
- Communicate reliably with the patient and with our physio coordinator on scheduling and outcomes.

Hours & schedule
Fully flexible. Take as few or as many visits as your calendar allows — mornings, evenings or weekends. Most freelancers combine PhysioJohor visits with clinic or hospital work.
Pay
Indicative RM50–90 per hour, paid per completed home visit (≈ RM70–150 per visit depending on complexity, travel and duration). Rates are agreed with you before you accept a case and rise with experience and demand.

Questions physiotherapists ask
Do I need to be MOH-registered to take freelance home visits?
Yes. Every physiotherapist we send to a patient must be registered with the Malaysian Ministry of Health and working within physiotherapy scope. We verify this before your first case.
How is freelance home-visit work paid?
You are paid per completed visit — indicatively RM70–150 per visit, which works out around RM50–90 an hour depending on complexity, travel and session length. The rate is agreed before you accept a case.
Can I choose which cases and areas I take?
Yes. We send you the condition, location and preferred times; you accept only the cases that fit your scope, schedule and travel radius. There is no penalty for declining.
Can I do this alongside a clinic or hospital job?
Most of our freelance physios do. You set your own availability, so home visits fit around your other shifts.
