Mobile physiotherapist, outer Johor districts
Cover an under-served district near you. Fewer clinics, more patients who need home care.
RM50–95 per hour · ≈ RM80–160 per visit plus travel allowance
Most home-visit physiotherapy in Johor clusters around Johor Bahru. The outer districts — Kulai, Kota Tinggi, Pontian, Mersing, Kluang, Segamat, Batu Pahat, Muar and Tangkak — have far fewer physios yet plenty of post-surgical, stroke and elderly patients who struggle to travel to a clinic. This role is for a physiotherapist who lives in or near one of those districts and wants to be the person who covers it.
You anchor a district (or two neighbouring ones) and take the home visits that come up there. Because these areas are spread out, visits are planned around travel: we group cases by town and day where we can, and pay a travel allowance on top of the visit rate so distance is not a penalty. You genuinely own your patch — patients and referrers get to know you as their local physio.
This is a distinct role from Johor Bahru home visits: lower case density, longer distances, and more variety per patient because you may be the only physio a family can reach. It suits an independent, well-organised clinician with reliable transport who wants steady community work close to home rather than a city commute.
What the work involves
- Provide home-visit physiotherapy across an assigned outer Johor district — post-surgical, stroke/neuro, elderly and musculoskeletal rehab.
- Plan efficient visit routes and group nearby cases by day to keep travel manageable.
- Build ongoing relationships with local patients, families and referrers so your district's coverage is consistent.
- Bring portable equipment suited to home settings and keep clear session notes.
- Flag cases that need a doctor, hospital or a Johor Bahru specialist referral.
Who this suits
- Physios living in or near Kulai, Kota Tinggi, Pontian, Kluang, Batu Pahat, Muar or a neighbouring town.
- Independent clinicians with reliable transport who are happy to travel within a district.
- Physios who want to be their area's go-to home-visit provider rather than compete in the JB cluster.
Who this is not for
- Physios who want high-density, short-distance work (Johor Bahru freelance suits that better).
- Anyone without dependable transport for longer inter-town journeys.
- Non-registered practitioners.
Areas you can cover
- Kulai, Kota Tinggi, Pontian, Mersing, Kluang, Segamat, Batu Pahat, Muar, Tangkak (anchor one or two neighbouring districts)

Questions physiotherapists ask
Which districts does the mobile role cover?
Johor's outer districts — Kulai, Kota Tinggi, Pontian, Mersing, Kluang, Segamat, Batu Pahat, Muar and Tangkak. You anchor one or two neighbouring districts, ideally where you already live.
Is travel time paid for?
Yes. Because outer districts involve longer distances, we pay a travel allowance on top of the per-visit rate, and we group cases by town and day to keep journeys efficient.
How is the mobile role paid?
Indicatively RM50–95 per hour, paid per completed visit (around RM80–160 per visit) plus travel allowance. Rates are agreed before you accept work.
How is this different from Johor Bahru freelance visits?
Outer districts have lower case density and longer distances, so you own a patch and plan routes rather than hopping between nearby JB neighbourhoods. It suits physios who already live outside the JB core.
